Brewers Rout the Rays 10-1 and Can Win the World Series Tonight
Seven straight two-out hits produced an eight-run fifth inning, two World Series records. No team has ever come back from 3-0 down in the Series.
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the World Series on Monday night at Tropicana Field and lead the best-of-seven series 3-0. They can win the first championship in franchise history in Game 4 tonight, Tuesday, October 27, at 8 p.m. Eastern on FOX.
Milwaukee led 2-0 after RBI singles by Christian Yelich and William Contreras in the third inning, then broke it open in the fifth with eight runs, all with two outs, on seven consecutive hits. Both the seven straight two-out hits and the eight two-out runs in an inning are World Series records, CNN reports. Jackson Chourio went 4 for 4.
Robert Gasser got the win and Freddy Peralta took the loss. The Rays scored their only run in the ninth. No team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the World Series. If Tampa Bay wins tonight, Game 5 is Wednesday in St. Petersburg.
