The Road to the World Series, and Where Every Game Is Played
Both top seeds won their pennants, the Brewers by sweeping the Dodgers. The Series opens in Milwaukee Friday, moves to St. Petersburg for Games 3 to 5, and comes back for 6 and 7 if needed.
The two best teams of the regular season both made it through. In the American League, the top-seeded Rays swept the Yankees 3-0 in the Division Series and beat the Guardians 4-2 in the ALCS. Cleveland had needed all five games to get past the sixth-seeded White Sox, who knocked out the Astros in the Wild Card round; the Yankees beat the Red Sox in the other AL Wild Card series.
In the National League, the top-seeded Brewers beat the Padres 3-1 in the Division Series and swept the defending champion Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS, with Jake Bauers named NLCS MVP. The Dodgers had beaten the Braves 3-1; Atlanta won its Wild Card series over the Phillies in three games, and San Diego swept the Cubs.
The World Series is a 2-3-2 format, with Milwaukee holding home-field advantage. Games 1 and 2 are Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, at American Family Field in Milwaukee, its first-ever World Series games. Games 3 and 4 are Monday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 27, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, with Game 5 there on Wednesday, October 28, if needed. Games 6 and 7, if needed, are back in Milwaukee on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31.
Every game starts at 8 p.m. Eastern on FOX and FOX Deportes, streaming on FOX One. Both ballparks have roofs, so weather delays are unlikely. Our 2026 MLB Postseason page keeps the full schedule and will add each result as games end.
