Ian Poulter Leaves LIV Golf Two Days Before Its Deadline

By Sports Unc · October 23, 2026 · the Oct 23, 2026 edition

Ian Poulter, co-captain of LIV's Majesticks team, says he will not sign up for the proposed LIV 2.0 and is leaving the league, citing more time at home, less travel and a focus on senior golf next year, Golf Monthly reports. He is the second team leader to go in a week, after Louis Oosthuizen. LIV's opt-in deadline is Sunday, October 25, and Golf Monthly reports that the league needs enough players committed to secure a $300 million investment deal with BC Partners.
